During the 2019-2020 school year, we worked on the development of our next District strategic plan. We started with the end in mind – the students. With input of varied stakeholders, we created the Clayton Profile of a Graduate describing the attributes we want for our students - while also supporting our District mission and vision. The Profile has grounded us when we launched the strategic planning process in October of 2019. The Launch Meeting was held on October 4, 2019 with varied stakeholders who provided us with data and input that influenced the development of goal statements. We have been intentional about developing a strategic plan that builds on our excellence and that will cause us to be transformational in our approaches to learning. In January of 2020, the Board was presented with goal statements at a working session and the input collected led to a refinement of the goals. Since the spring of 2020, the goals, objectives, actions and measurements have been developed through the engagement of District administration, focus groups and a Board subcommittee. On September 9, 2020, the Board was presented with a draft strategic plan and the data dashboard. The Board worked in small groups with the Central Office administration to review the document and to process any clarifying questions and suggestions. The information from that meeting led to further refinements of the plan. Since then, a subcommittee of the Board and the administration reconvened and decided on the final refinements of the goals and objectives. The Board of Education approved this strategic plan at their November 11, 2020 board meeting. A data dashboard has been developed to easily monitor the progress of the goals and to determine if adjustments need to be made to the strategic plan.
